With spring right around the corner, antiques dealers are already looking ahead and sharing what they expect shoppers will be hunting for in the months to come. As homes are decluttered and flea markets fill up again, certain vintage finds are poised to shine. Here, dealers weigh in on five antiques that are likely to be in especially high demand this season.
Antique silver is certainly having a moment and will continue to appeal to shoppers this spring, notes Bessette co-founder Lauren Reveley. “Customers are gravitating toward classic platters, petite footed bowls, serveware, and decorative trays that can transition from everyday styling to special occasions,” she says. Patina is also less of a concern these days, she adds. “A soft tarnish is now seen as character rather than a flaw, and many shoppers appreciate the romance of ‘lived-in’ silver.”
